We took some time off - the day before the National Specialty Conformation began - and Karen took us to Portland - Oregon to see the sights. We visited the Japanese Gardens and did some shopping. We ended the day in a nice Restaurant and had a good time. Poor Scott, he stayed home and took care of the dogs. |

Our American Adventure
at the ASCA National Specialty, Longview, WA - 1999 |
This is where our American Adventure began. At the Fairgrounds in Longview. After being invited by Karen and Scott Ritter, we took the |
plane to Seattle for a 2-week stay at the Nationals. We had 4 dogs with us, Rhett, Aicha and the pups Ah-Some and Star. |
This is Some Kind of Magic Y'Snowcrest (Star).
After we came back she went to her new owner Kerstin Patzold of Patzold Aussies in Germany. |
And here's little Ah-Some (Some Kind of Magic's Yust Ah-some).
He was the only one of our dogs that came back with a ribbon and made his owners, Debby and Luc very proud. |
Sally's camper Karen and Scott's camper |
We were very fortunate to be able to stay in these two campers, thanks to Karen and Scott Ritter - who invited us - and Sally Davis - who had to put up with us for a couple of days. And lets not forget Scott's sister Karen and her family who where kind enough to let us stay in their home overnight when it turned out the plane was overbooked and we could'nt get on it the same day anymore. Thanks all off you guy's ...... |
For the first time ever, we saw Aussies work cattle. I saw a little duck herding as well but time was too short to see all events. We missed the sheep herding and obedience trials but did see some agility that happened to be next to the conformation rings. |
Off course we where there in the first place for the conformation and that kept us busy most of the time. |
This picture was taken at one of the preshows. On the far left is Gemmi Sasson with "Pirate". In the middle, Scott Ritter with "Cheyenne" and right of him Debby with "Rhett". Sorry ladies, I don't now your names but if you happen to stumble onto this page and recognize yourself, don't hesitate to contact me and let me know. |
Here's Rhett in the open red-merle class at the National Specialty Show, handled by Lisa Pope of "Firestorm Aussies". Thanks Lisa for a job well done. |
Here I am in the Japanese Garden with Debby and Karen. |
